January 2002
We started the new year off with a Calvin College Interim course in Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. We spent 10 days in the rainforest living with a native indian tribe, where we went on hikes through the forest (one in which we ere lost for several hours), tried our hand at fishing for piranha, did some camine watching at night and learned about the land and the people that live on it. Then we spent 10 days living on boats as we traveled through the Galapagos Islands. This was truly incredible. We spent time learning about the islands (how unique each one is) and the wildlife. We spent a lot of time swimming and snorkeling. It was incredible to be so close to so much underwater life. Take a look at our pictures from the trip.
