Marcie came to town this weekend (well, on Sunday night) and spent the night with us. It was great to see her again, and for Lisa to have some good "girl time".
We went to see the Dead Sea Scrolls tonight with our Bible Study group. Although lisa has been to Isreal and seen them before, it was really neat to see them. As you enter the exhibit you are handed a headset. From this point on you take your time as you go from one area to another. We were able to punch numbers into our headset that gave us an audio commentary on the things we were viewing. The scrolls themselves are very intersting as most of them are missing... All that remains are little pieces here and there. There are several large pieces of the scrolls and those are very fascinating. If you're in the area and you have not gone to see them I highly recomend it as this is the going to June 1, 2003. So what are you waiting for???
Mom and Dad Slighter came out to visit us this weekend to celebrate Lisa's Birthday! Thursday night they came with us to watch David play soccer. He plays on an team with some of his co-workers on an indoor recreation league. On Friday David worked only half of a day so that we could all be together. We went to Carabba's for dinner. It was a wonderful Italian restaurant that we would all recommend. Saturday morning we took Mom and Dad to the Van Andel Museum, where the Dead Sea Scrolls are on display. We did not join them because we are going on Tuesday night with our Bible Study group. We spent the rest of the weekend playing games and basically hanging out together. It was really nice to have them in town.
David and I were asked to be room leaders for the 2's at Mars Hill. It is a room that is just starting up, and includes kids who turn 2 on March 1 or after. So far we really love it, although it is very different than the 3's and 4's that we had been working with. It is a challenge, and we are taking it! We do love the kids, and have fun with our co-workers!
