Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We did not have time to write out a Christmas card to mail out this year, so I am writing it here instead!
This year has been filled with joy. In April we took a wonderful vacation to Hawaii. We were there for 2 weeks, which I have to say is the way to go! The first week we were there with the Taylor family, which was a blast. We were on the big island, and enjoyed the beaches, volcano, snorkeling, and spending time together. The second week was us David and I on Maui, and that was amazing. After a busy week with family, it was nice to relax just the two of us. We enjoyed seeing the sun rise on Mt Haleakala, more snorkeling, eating snowcones, doing the Road to Hana, and just relaxing. It was our last big vacation with just the two of us for a very long time! Because..
In August, we welcomed our daughter, Kayla Rose. Having a child has been the most incredible experience. We are both loving being parents! Not to gloss over the fact that it is a lot of work... but it is most definitely a lot of fun. She is a little bundle of joy, and we are really enjoying every moment of her.
We celebrated our 5 year anniversary 3 days after she was born. So by celebrate, I mean we made the milestone! The extra week in Hawaii was what we treated ourselves to, since we knew there wouldn't be any time or energy to do anything in August!
For the holiday's this year, we are traveling out East. We will be with the Slighter's for Christmas, and then in Delaware with the Taylor's and all the extended family. It will be relaxing, busy, and fun to show off Kayla to so many people! Hopefully she does well in the plane and car, and in large groups of people! We are hoping she is willing to sleep in all of these new environments!! We'll see.
May you all have a very Merry Christmas, and may the joy and peace that comes from the Lord touch you this holiday season, and the New Year bring many happy memories.
Love,
David, Lisa and Kayla.... Wesley and Buttercup too!!
