Isaac's 7th Month

As soon as we got back from vacation, we started having Isaac sleeping in his bed in his room all night long. It's been working out great. I can't say that I LOVE going to another room to nurse him in the middle of the night, but at least I get to use my awesome rocking chair!! On most nights he goes down pretty easily for us and aside from waking to nurse once, he sleeps through the night in there really well. He has settled into take 2 naps, for a total of about 2-3 hours of sleep during the day. Also - he most often sleeps with his hands behind his head as though he is sun-bathing. We have a picture of him in the hospital when he is just a few hours old sleeping like this, and that pose has continued. It is so cute!

It took until after we got back from vacation that he started to really enjoy eating solids. Even still we haven't been that consistent in feeding him real food yet. Sometimes we go a few days without feeding him any! But we're trying to get into the habit of feeding him some solids at/after our dinner time. We've been putting him in the high chair and giving him some Cheerio's to eat while we eat, and then we'll feed him something (with a spoon) after we are finished eating. He has now had avocado, sweet potatoes, bananas, apples and Cheerio's!

Also, since getting back from vacation he has taken a bottle several times now! Go figure!

He is really rolling around quite a bit now, he seems more motivated. He can sort of army crawl, although he can't get too far and it certainly isn't fast. But it's in a forward moving direction as opposed to rolling. This desire to roll sure makes changing his diaper a callenge!

He and Kayla are starting to interact a little more. Now that he can move to get to toys, he'll move and get to HER toys. Something this is ok and she laughs. Sometimes this is not ok and she scolds him! But mostly they smile. I left him on the floor for a minute while I ran into the kitchen and came back with Kayla laying on the ground with Isaac on top, hm!

He's sitting up much better. He isn't really stable enough to leave him sitting if I am going in the other room or something yet. But when I'm near he can sit and play with toys for awhile. So fun!

He LOVES books. Sometimes he'll let me read more than one page before trying to put the book in his mouth, but mostly he likes to shut the book and turn it around and look at the cover and talk to the book with his coos. It's adorable! I have to really watch him with board books because he'll just eat them if I turn my eye! But I've put a few plastic (like bath type books) in his crib for him to play with before falling asleep at naps and he loves to play with them! As a second child, sadly I don't feel that I read to him nearly as much as I read to Kayla. Instead, he'll listen to me reading books to her, which I guess accomplishes the same goal. Hopefully I'll continue to make time to read the baby books to him when he and I have some time to ourselves.

He has 4 teeth now- 2 on top and 2 on bottom. Sadly, he (like Kayla at this age) likes to grind his teeth. Ugh, I can't stand that noise!

He is still a sweet, sweet little boy. I just love to kiss his head and his cheeks and I love when he nuzzles into my shoulder. I hate that he is growing up so fast - I love this stage right now!
