Christmas Fun
Since we are out of town for several weeks at Christmas, we don't do a ton of decorating. In fact, our Christmas tree is a 3 foot tree that we set up on a table! It's actually really nice to have a small tree - I don't have to worry about the kids or the cats knocking it over, but it's still fun to have one! Kayla picked out all of the ornaments for it and had a blast decorating it! This year both Isaac and Kayla are enjoying the Little People Nativity Scene!
Last year my parents gave us this awesome Advent Calendar and we have been enjoying opening it each day this December.
We went to Meijer Garden to see their collection of Christmas trees from around the world. They also have a huge train display, which both kids enjoyed.
The night we went there were Carolers and Santa, and Santa was the highlight for Kayla. She was so excited to sit on his lap! But, just before it was our turn she was saying that she didn't want to sit on his lap anymore... however, when she climbed into his sleigh she changed her tune and hopped right on. She was so mesmerized that she just studied him intently and refused to say anything or answer any of his questions! I wanted a picture with the two kids on Santa's lap, but as I put Isaac on Santa he immediately started crying and reaching for me! I was able to calm him down for a few pictures before I scooped him up again!
We are looking forward to celebrating Christmas on the East Coast again this year!!
