Isaac's 11th Month

He's gotten much faster at crawling and a bit more adventurous at pulling up and cruising. He's starting to transition from us to a toy, or a toy to us, and more and more between 2 objects. I do not think he is too close to walking on his own yet, though. Guess we'll see! But he certainly can get around quickly and get into things quickly! My new favorite sound is the slap slap of his hands on the linoleum! He also is interested in climbing the stairs, and is fast enough that he can get up the first 3 before I run to catch him! He seems to know when I'm occupied (like in a crucial part of making dinner, or going to the bathroom) and he chooses those times to high-tail it to the stairs! Stinker :)

We gave him a new walking toy (well, recycled from when Kayla used it) and he LOVES to walk behind it!

He is still consistently taking 2 naps a day. He's in a 3/3/3.5 nap schedule (wakes for the day then naps 3 hours later, then naps 3 hours after waking up from his first nap, and goes to bed about 3.5 hours after his 2nd nap is over). His naps typically last between 1-2 hours each, depending on the day. Coming from an experience where my first child took two 30 min naps a day, this is quite a nice change (although it is SO MUCH HARDER to get out of the house to do something/anything!). I can push his first nap back if we go out an do something in the morning, but then his 2nd nap doesn't line up with Kayla's nap/quiet time, which means I don't really get any kid-free time. He is typically really good at putting himself to sleep. I usually just rock him for a minute or two before laying him down. Sometimes he rolls right over and falls asleep, sometimes he plays for awhile before falling asleep, and unfortunately sometimes he stands up and cries for me until I go back up and settle him down again.

Still just 7 teeth, but I feel bulges where more are going to come in.

He's gotten really ridiculously picky about eating, and I'm struggling with what to do about it! He will happily eat anything with carbs in them - pancakes, cereals, stuffing, bread, graham crackers etc. and is excited to self-feed those things. He also loves yogurt, so long as it's smooth and there isn't any bits of fruit in it (he'll spit out the whole bite of yogurt to fish the fruit out). He will no longer eat fruit, veggies or meat, however (not self feed, not mashed on a spoon, not pureed and with a spoon). I've been getting creative by adding mashed fruits and veggies into his pancakes and meat and veggies into his stuffing. Sometimes that flies and sometimes it doesn't. By 11 months I feel like Kayla was eating mostly what we were eating, and I was just cutting foods into small pieces for her to self-feed. I feel like Isaac requires being spoon fed food and is quite picky on what it is that he won't spit out. It's quite a different experience for me and I'm still trying to figure him out! We also gave him his first bite of ice cream too! His first reaction was surprise that it was so cold. But quickly he was begging for more!

We are still nursing 4 times a day. He can (sort of) drink from a sippy cup.

He is getting quite curious about things and loves playing with toys. He especially likes toys with wheels and toys that play music. He loves to rock back and forth to music and starts rocking the second something comes on. I love that! He loves banging on the piano and sitting in my lap and listening to me play.

His hair is getting longer and he's got these adorable curls in the back. David would like me to cut his hair, but I will not! I'm not planning on him having long hair, but I'm not giving him a buzz cut yet either!

He's such a good snuggler. He loves to cuddle in with me and nuzzle his head into my neck! I love snuggling with him! :) He also loves being tickled and "eaten".

He's a lot of fun, we are enjoying him immensely!
